Social Media Marketing: A Brief

Little bit surprised to see the heading? I know, social media marketing has really modernized itself with the changing times. New tools have emerged, new techniques have been discussed, and new ideas are coming into the play. However, we cannot afford to miss the basics of social media marketing. The reason I am taking this topic today is to brush up myself with the founding concepts of social media.

We have been talking about automation, convenience, and simplicity that social media has provided to every online marketer. But sometimes, we need to go back to basics to innovate ourselves to dig deep into the modern marketing concepts. Apart from these mentioned benefits, the basics of social media marketing guarantees us a lot.

These basics have proved their significance in the traditional marketing strategies as well. Now, with social media, they have graduated themselves with the variety of marketing options. However, we cannot miss them as we move ahead.

For me, social media marketing is all about human. It requires more of a personal touch to your marketing activities. The KYC factor (know your customer) has always been the root of any marketing activity. But with social media, it has become more visible and influential. This visibility is clearly seen as businesses are paying more attention to their customers through multiple social media platforms. This KYC factor is one of the strong basics of social media marketing. Be it Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn, marketers have to give proper attention to this factor. You may automate your social media content, however, you cannot automate your customer's feedback. Hence, you need to be there always, live and pro-active.

Social media marketing has really made the overall marketing communication personal. From a Facebook fan to Twitter follower, every customer requires personal attention to their demands and queries. This need for personal attention underscores the human significance in the social media marketing space.

From KYC to personalized marketing communication, and consistency to liveliness, social media marketing is all about creating customer opportunities. Social media is about your ability to engage customers and get desired business profits.

Relevance and Influence: Balance is the Key

Relevance and influence are two important aspects of social media marketing. Which one of them is more important is very difficult question to answer. I would consider content as a magical lamp to solve social media challenges.  Marketers need to use content precisely to have a great mix of relevance and influence in their marketing strategy.
