Social Media and Business Intelligence

Business intelligence is the right way to keep track of your activities, manpower, and customers. Business users are not only spending hours on scrutinizing their critical elements, but are also spending extra money to get hold of precise and accurate business intelligence solution for their company. However, small businesses may find it difficult to implement the replica of this 'expensive' mechanism within their organization. Hence, social media is the right platform for them. The extensive engagement capabilities of social media platforms enable them to act as an efficient business intelligence tool for small businesses. Here is the way to do it...

1) Active Comment Moderation: Especially for company blogs, and Facebook fan pages. Social media marketing is influence marketing...And this influence is followed by same force of reaction or feedback. This influence has the capacity to generate both negative and positive sentiments around the brand. Therefore, every brand has to be active in reacting to this influence with competence and open heart. Answering queries, complaints or a word of appreciation can really create wonders for brands. If users are active enough to make most of these opportunities, then they can really have sufficient intelligence about the online presence of their brand. This intelligence will enable them to modify their existing strategy or implement a new one to meet the expectations of their target audience.

2) Keep Track of Followers: In social media marketing, fans, followers are the real assets. Hence, the business users need to keep track of their followers to review their marketing tactics and efforts. Increase or decrease in number of fans, followers enables users to measure capabilities of their online marketing strategy. This ensures that users are continuously monitoring the impact of their marketing activities in 'numbers'.

3) Form Analysis: Lead generation is the ultimate goal of any marketing activity, be it offline or online. Apart from driving traffic to the website through all other social media platforms, business users have forms listed on their website to capture potential leads. However, this is not the end of the story. It is very essential for marketer to know the source of their website visits. And this can be done through forms, and analytics measurement. Analytics can help you track the visitors to your website, but forms will enable you to keep track of your potential leads. Hence, you need to have a form field that enables you to know the source of that lead. A simple form field -- How did you know about us -- can really help you see from where your leads are coming.
