Four Influential Social Marketing Ideas

Social marketing ideas aren't about advertising your brand or products, it's more about customer engagement. What makes social media marketing different from traditional marketing is it's ability to engage customers on a regular basis. We have been talking about Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and all those social platforms that encourage customer engagement with brands and products. Social marketing ideas are not for those companies or brands who are just interested in 'one night stands', it's for the companies who want stable and strong commitment from customers like 'marriage'. Let's talk about the basics...yeah, that's the 'golden rule' of marketing for me. Any company or brand that knows the basic rules of customer engagement can never fail in the long run.
Here're the some important basics of social marketing...

1) Know your customer: Know your customer or KYC is not just about taking personal information of your customers, it's more than that. It's about understanding the sentiments of your customers. Knowing your customer's requirements, concerns, or even likes and dislikes, allows you anchor accurate and stable marketing strategy. Having a stable marketing strategy helps businesses drive customers towards products and services with more conviction and authority. No business can afford to gamble with its marketing strategy for a longer time, even with success, therefore, you need to stability to approach your customers. And it is possible only when you know your customer.

2) Self belief: Do not confuse this with over confidence. Brands often tend to make such mistakes. Self belief is all about achieving market stability, not instant success. This is tend to happen with social media. With social media, brands are looking out for instant success, however, they forget that social media marketing is all about communications marketing. And communications marketing needs consistency, and self belief. Holding customers in an active and healthy conversation is the biggest challenge for any company in social media marketing. This challenge can only be tackled with self belief.

3) Sense of creativity: Being creative is very important in social media marketing. Customers do prefer variations from the vendors in terms of marketing approach, as it gives them an opportunity to test vendor's weaknesses and strong points. And this determines their buying tendency. In today's era of stiff competition, customers are looking out for fresh concepts and ideas. They are searching for some buying flexibility and product variations through innovative marketing concepts and strategies. Social media platforms have given vendors an opportunity to try out new things with their customer interaction.

4) Need for speed: The race is on. If you can't make it, then you lose. In social media marketing, every conversation takes place in real time, therefore, you need to be on your toes to make most of it. Any missed conversation can be a lost business opportunity. Social media marketing has signified the 'need for speed'. The speed in which real-time customer interactions are taking place...It's up to businesses how are they using this speed for their benefits. But one this is for sure...there's a need for speed...

Relevance and Influence: Balance is the Key

Relevance and influence are two important aspects of social media marketing. Which one of them is more important is very difficult question to answer. The key is to maintain balance between these two. However, it's not that easy. For me, the best way to attain this balance is to have content consistency. I would consider content as a magical lamp to solve social media challenges.  Marketers need to use content precisely to have a great mix of relevance and influence in their marketing strategy. This can be done by effective content syndication. Content syndication does not necessarily mean content repetition, it can be referred as sending consistent marketing message across all the platforms. The success of these two important elements is largely depend on the effective customer engagement, and again content comes in the picture.  Social media has provided marketers with ample sharing opportunities, however,  they need to be utilized properly. Sharing, for me, i...

Overview: Everyone has different perspectives and objectives when it comes to events. Someone may be interested in connecting with potential customers, promoting their brand, pursuing a better career, gaining knowledge, and many more. So, how can event organizers utilize events to achieve their business goals? From an organizer's perspective, every single aspect of events is crucial. From event content to event marketing and engagement to audience, an event organizer should have a holistic approach to make the event successful. The Content Role: The event's content plays an important role. Being an event organizer and producer, I have always felt something special about events. For the promotion, I was more focused on content value and delivery. I was betting high on quality content for the event's success. Today, with the hybrid model, the organizers have more freedom to deliver the content in a better and more presented manner. Especially with the on-demand model of hybri...
